Senttri vs. HEY

Last updated July 16, 2026

HEY isn't an email client — it's its own provider, requiring a new @hey.com address (or your own domain on the business plan), and it explicitly doesn't import your existing Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, or Microsoft 365 mail. Senttri keeps the addresses you already have and merges them with AI sorting. HEY costs $99/year personally or $12/user/month for HEY for Domains (its custom-domain team plan); Senttri starts at $14/user/month.

HEY (from 37signals) has a genuinely different philosophy worth being upfront about: it isn't a client that connects to your existing email accounts at all — it's its own email provider. Signing up means a new @hey.com address (or your own domain on the business plan), and HEY is explicit in its own docs that it doesn't import your old Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, or Microsoft 365 mail. You can forward new mail in, but your history stays wherever it already is.

HEY's Screener/Imbox/Feed/Paper Trail model is a real, well-designed answer to inbox overload — it's just answering a different question than Senttri is. Senttri assumes you already have addresses you're not going to abandon (a work Microsoft 365 account, a personal Gmail, maybe an old Yahoo you still get mail at) and merges them, sorted by AI, without asking you to switch providers or lose your address.
